Frequently asked questions
Can I join a group without creating an account?
Yes. Open the group's invite link and enter your name to join as a guest. You can also sign in with an existing account. The ChatGPT connection requires a signed-in, full SplitCheck account; guest sessions cannot authorize it.
How do I add an expense?
From Home or a group, use Scan for a receipt, hold the microphone while speaking and release when finished, or use Type to describe the expense. You can also enter it manually. Voice audio is uploaded for transcription. Check the amount, currency, payer and split on the Review screen before saving; AI can make mistakes.
How do currencies and exchange rates work?
Each group has a base currency. An expense can be in another supported currency; SplitCheck converts it into the group's currency for balances using exchange rates from third-party providers. You can review the conversion in the app and enter a rate manually if needed. These rates may differ from your bank or payment app's rate.
Does settling up send money?
No. SplitCheck tracks balances, not bank transfers. Settle Up can open available external payment methods when a recipient has saved their details. Complete the payment in that service, then record the settlement in SplitCheck. Opening a payment app does not automatically record it. Check the recipient, currency and amount before paying.
What is free, and what does SplitCheck Pro include?
Free. Optional SplitCheck Pro in the app. The free plan includes a receipt-scan allowance; the app shows your usage and when the allowance resets. SplitCheck Pro adds unlimited receipt scanning for your account. AI text and voice processing have their own usage limits; Pro does not make those unlimited. You can still enter an expense manually when a processing limit is reached.
Subscriptions
Manage or cancel SplitCheck Pro
On iPhone, open Profile → Manage subscription if you have Pro. You can also open Apple's Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions → SplitCheck to manage or cancel. Apple handles billing. Deleting your SplitCheck account does not cancel an Apple subscription.
On Android, open Profile → Manage subscription if you have Pro, or open Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → SplitCheck. You can also manage your Google Play subscription online. Use the Google account you subscribed with. Google Play handles billing. Deleting your SplitCheck account does not cancel a Google Play subscription.
Restore purchases
On iPhone, open the SplitCheck Pro paywall and tap Restore Purchases, using the Apple ID that purchased the subscription. If you are still unable to restore access, email us with the error message. Do not send payment-card details.
On Android, open the SplitCheck Pro paywall and tap Restore Purchases. Sign in to Google Play with the Google account that purchased the subscription. If access is still missing, email us with the error message.
Refunds
Request refunds from the store where you subscribed: Apple or Google Play. The store's refund rules apply.
Can I buy Pro on the web?
The web paywall links to our mobile apps on the App Store and, when available, Google Play. It does not provide a web checkout.

Delete your SplitCheck account
SplitCheck is provided by Part2AI, Inc. You can delete your account in the app or request deletion without access to it.
In the app or on splitcheck.me
- Open SplitCheck or splitcheck.me and sign in.
- Go to Profile → Delete account and confirm the deletion.
Without access to your account
Email support@splitcheck.me with the subject “Delete my SplitCheck account” from the email address on your account. We will verify ownership before processing the request. If you joined as a guest or no longer have that email, tell us your display name and the name of a group you joined so we can help verify ownership. Do not send your password.
What is deleted and what is kept?
Deletion removes your sign-in account and sessions, email address, profile photo link, push token, usage records and subscription-access record. Your account-linked invitation records are removed or revoked, and you lose access to your groups.
Shared expenses, splits and settlements stay in the group for as long as the group exists, because other members' balances depend on them. Your name is anonymized as Deleted user, so these records no longer identify you. An anonymized account record keeps the shared history and balances linked and consistent.
Timing and retention
A successful deletion in the app or on the website takes effect immediately. Email deletion requests are completed within 30 days of the request. Deleted data may remain in database backups for up to 30 days, until those backups roll off automatically.
If you have a subscription, cancel it in Apple ID Settings or Google Play before deleting your account, using the store account you subscribed with. Deleting your SplitCheck account does not stop billing. Apple, Google Play and RevenueCat keep their own subscription and purchase records under their policies. See subscription instructions above.
SplitCheck in ChatGPT
What can the connection do?
After you connect your full SplitCheck account and approve access, ChatGPT can create groups, list your groups and active members, add expenses with exact per-person amounts, and read group balances. People must already be active members before an expense is posted for them.
ChatGPT does the receipt or item-to-person math in the conversation and sends the confirmed totals to SplitCheck. The connection does not upload receipt images to SplitCheck, edit or delete expenses, send money, record settlements, or manage direct person-to-person ledgers. Check the proposed group, amounts and allocations before confirming a write.
Member listings only return an existing invite link when your account can access it. Otherwise, a group manager must generate or share the link in the app.
What information is shared?
The connection returns requested group names and currencies, member display names and references, invite links when accessible, and balances. When you add an expense, its date, currency, amounts, allocations and note are saved to your group. Other members can see shared expense data. Currency conversion sends only currency codes to public exchange-rate services. ChatGPT also processes your conversation under OpenAI's policies.
How do I disconnect?
Open ChatGPT's settings for connected apps or plugins and disconnect SplitCheck. This stops use of that connection; it does not delete your SplitCheck account or the groups and expenses you have already created. To delete your account, use the account-deletion steps above.
If a save returns an uncertain result, check the group in SplitCheck before trying again to avoid a duplicate expense or group.
